COMPETITION STAGES

STAGE 1 (ONLINE SUBMISSION)

• TPJC registration and video submission is only at our official website www.tpjazzfest.com
• TPJC is addressed to all bands that play the style generically called JAZZ
• The contest is open to jazz musicians of all ages per category, worldwide.
• Musicians per category can participate by sending one video of one mandatory chosen song:
Someday My Prince Will Come/Take Five/Confirmation
• The categories for the 2023 edition of the contest are:

Youth Jazz

Jazz Warrior

• The maximum age for all the member is 23 y.o
• Minimal trio (3) and maximal nonet (9)
• Open to professional and amateur groups
• Applies to Indonesian only

• Above 23 y.o for Indonesian (Mix ages allowed
in band member)
• No age restriction for foreigners (Below 23 y.o
is allowed)
• Minimal trio (3) and maximal nonet (9)
• Open to professional and amateur groups
• Applies to any nationalities

• Videos may last up to, but cannot exceed 7 minutes in length with maximum of 200 MB. Performances must be
recorded live, on any device (even a Smartphone). Cuts, edits, additional backing tracks (dubbing) to
complete the arrangement are not allowed. Multi-window videos with musicians recording from different
places will be accepted.
• Sufficient Video and audio quality is required, to enable the judges to correctly evaluate the performance.
• By applying and accepting this Regulation, artists allow The Papandayan Jazz to use the material sent for any
promotional purpose and publicity tied to it.
• The organization will confirm registration with an automatic email. Confirmation of registration does not
confirm inclusion in the contest. Some submissions might be found not eligible.
• Selection is based on the judgment of the panel judges, and the decision of the Judges is final and cannot be
contested
• The video submission deadline for the first stage is April 30th 2023.
